Minecraft is our primary tool to introduce kids to technology, art, hardware and coding. This track focuses on art, 3D design, programming, code and building on technical computer skills. Join us as we create new items, adventure maps and more to the game by coding our own Data Pack, the next generation of Minecraft modding. Fall – Trial Chambers Designer

• Enter the world of Minecraft Adventure Map creation where you design your own custom game within the game for distribution for other players to experience. Build custom dungeons using creative mode and external software to design your own tricky trails with awesome rewards using the new Vault block. Utilize custom scripts to add dangerous encounters with hostile creatures and bosses for players to vanquish. Craft your own narrative to share using advanced map making tools and the game dev pipeline! Great for aspiring developers and lovers of building.

Winter –  Model, Build, Print!

• Discover the 3rd dimension of printing and design as we explore multitudes of software to create and 3D print custom mobs, items and structures for Minecraft. Create custom 3D models for tools in Minecraft then print it IRL as a keychain. Design a new creature inspired by Minecrafts blocky aesthetic and bring it into the real world. Craft intricate structures in-game then utilize special software to export your building into a 3D model format for 3D printing! Participants get to take home their Minecraft influenced 3D prints at the end of the season.

Spring – Mod Makers 3.0

• Create a custom data pack mod for Minecraft and learn all about file structure, coding and game design. Make a plethora of new content for the game to rival even official game updates. Craft new features such as custom records with playable songs, new pixel art paintings, appetizing new food items with in-game effects and even custom enchantments to bring a whole new set of upgrades to tools and armor!
