FAQ

Does Voxel Academy offer any virtual classes?

  • There are no virtual classes on Voxel Academy’s schedule yet — but that doesn’t mean we can’t explore other options for your family! Contact us to learn about other program offerings that we have.

Can we take after school for just a day?

  • Absolutely! Sign up for our Makerspace, where your child can take on a one-off project for that day.

Can I sign up more than once per week?

  • Absolutely! If you sign up for the same Track twice per week, your child will have their skills reinforced and more time to work on their project. And if it’s a different track, they’ll get two unique learning experiences! This is very common for children who want to do more than just one specific topic.

My child is 5, can I join after-school?

  • Most of our programs are tailored to be suitable for kids at 7yrs, like our Minecraft, Roblox & Makerspace. For kids 5yrs and up we have our Voxel Junior offerings, with tailored curriculum for that age. However, if you feel your child might be a good fit for one of our Minecraft or Roblox topics at a younger age (6yrs old), we’d be happy to speak to you about a single-day visit and doing a trial class. Contact us!

What happens on school holidays?

  • We follow the NYC School Calendar. On days when public school is closed, we’re closed, After School and our weekly programs will take off for that specific day or week. Weekly visitors are not charged for those days, they are built into our season schedule. Check out our Holiday Camps for what’s available on those days!

What if we’re late?

  • Workshop Time doesn’t start until 4:00 PM. Before then, we’re hanging out, playing games, helping participants with homework and getting ready for the workshop. It’s okay if you’re a few minutes late to Workshop Time, so no worries!

Can I add a new school to your pickup list?

  • We typically look for 3-5 kids signed up for consistent weekly visits in order to add a new school to our pickup list. Contact us if you’re interested!
    • Currently due to COVID-19 and DOE Policies we aren’t offering any school pickups at this time. Please check with your child’s school if they are allowing for After School Programs to make pick-ups.
